Dr Maya McNairn-Yanagi is a highly patient-focused General Practitioner with a special interest in women’s health. She has been a valued member of her current practice for over ten years, providing consistent, compassionate, and personalised care to individuals and families across the community.
Before entering general practice, Dr McNairn-Yanagi gained extensive experience working in hospitals across Brighton and Sussex, giving her a deep understanding of local health systems and how best to help patients navigate them. She graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2009 with an Honours degree in Pharmacology and went on to complete her medical training (MBChB), along with postgraduate qualifications in sexual and reproductive health (DFSRH).
Passionate about continuous learning, Dr McNairn-Yanagi is actively involved in teaching and mentoring junior doctors. She believes in tailoring healthcare to each individual’s needs, taking the time to listen carefully and ensure that every concern—no matter how big or small—is addressed with empathy and attention.
Having lived in Brighton for over fifteen years, Dr McNairn-Yanagi loves being part of the vibrant, inclusive and forward thinking local community and raising her young family here.
