Mayfield Clinic – Private GP Service (UK)
All prescriptions at our practice are issued by a GMC-registered doctor. Repeat prescriptions are issued at the doctor’s clinical discretion and are not automatic.
You may request your repeat prescription by:
• Emailing the practice
• Submitting a written request
Please allow 2–3 working days for processing (excluding weekends and bank holidays).
We are unable to guarantee same-day or urgent repeat prescriptions and if you need something urgently please book an appointment with a GP
To ensure your medication remains safe and appropriate:
• Regular medication reviews are required
• Some medicines require blood tests, blood pressure checks, or other monitoring
• You may be asked to book an appointment before further prescriptions are issued
If monitoring or review is overdue, prescribing may be delayed until this is completed.
In line with UK regulations:
• Controlled drugs are not issued on repeat prescription
• A review appointment is required each time before a prescription is issued
• Prescriptions are usually limited to a short supply (typically up to 28 days)
• Lost or stolen prescriptions are unlikely to be replaced
Identity verification may be required when collecting certain prescriptions.
If a medication was initiated by another private provider, NHS service, or online clinic, we may require:
• A review appointment
• Copies of relevant clinic letters or investigation results
We are not obliged to continue prescriptions initiated elsewhere.
As a private practice:
• A prescription fee and/or consultation fee may apply
• Fees are payable at the time of issue
Please ask reception for our current fee schedule.
Please:
• Request medication in good time
• Attend review appointments
• Complete any required monitoring
• Inform us of side effects or changes to your health
If you are unsure whether you need a review, please contact the practice and we will be happy to advise.
