Frequently asked questions

What's included in my consultation fee?

Your consultation fee includes the scheduled face-to-face (or via video) time with your clinician (e.g. 30 minutes), during which we will discuss your concerns, conduct any necessary examination, provide medical advice, and develop a treatment plan. During the allocated appointment slot, the clinician will also need time to complete clinical documentation, letter writing, prescriptions etc.

Is there a cancellation fee if I need to reschedule?

Mayfield Clinic operates a 24 hour cancellation policy. Appointments cancelled within 24 hours are non-refundable.

Will I receive an itemized receipt for insurance purposes?

Yes, when you book your appointment you will receive an invoice confirming your payment and the service booked. Should you require a diagnosis on your invoice, please advise your clinician at the time of your appointment.

Which insurance providers do you work with directly?

We do not accept standard UK insurance polices such as BUPA or Axa, as these do not typically cover private GP services. We can work with International insurance policies, as well as International SOS and other specialist insurers. We will require a guarantee of payment to be sent to complete your booking.

Are referral fees included if I need to see a specialist?

Your Mayfield Clinic appointment fee only covers time spent with your booked clinician. During this time, the clinician may be able to write you a referral letter to see a specialist. The specialist will have their own fees which will be charged separately.
