At Mayfield Clinic, our GPs are available to provide a range of advice and testing for sexually transmitted infections.
If you are worried that you might have a sexually transmitted infection, the NHS' advice is that you should get checked at a sexual health clinic as soon as possible. Common STI symptoms include:

Our GPs can provide advice, reassurance and where necessary sexual health testing. You can ask to see a male or female clinician. There are three ways to access sexual health testing at Mayfield Clinic practices:
In a sexual health appointment, our GPs will only have time to carry out the test. If you also wish to get advice and speak with a GP, please book a standard consultation, during which we can provide both advice and testing.

You can use Mayfield Clinic alongside your existing NHS GP practice. We believe in joined-up care; we don’t believe that it is in your best interests to have different doctors independently trying to treat you. For this reason, once you’ve seen a Mayfield Clinic GP we aim (with your permission) to share your consultation notes back with your current NHS GP. For example, if you can’t get an appointment at your local GP practice this week, you can book in with Mayfield Clinic’s GPs. With your consent, we’ll share the Mayfield Clinic consultation notes back with you and your NHS GP, so that when you next see your NHS GP they will have a full picture of your care history.
