What differentiates us as a private GP practice
Mayfield Clinic was set up to offer a differentiated primary care service. With NHS primary care services under huge strain, it is becoming increasingly challenging for NHS GP practices to provide the primary care service that was originally offered when the NHS was founded in 1948.
By operating outside of the NHS, whilst we are held to the same regulatory and clinical standards as NHS practices, we are able to offer a service freed from the financial constraints of working within a public sector system.
This gives us the flexibility to offer our patients benefits such as direct access to a GP, a more personalised service and extended consultation times.
Our Team
Our team is our priority. We know that without a happy clinical and administrative team, we cannot deliver a high standard of care.
Our clinicians are experienced GPs drawn from NHS practices across England. They are all NHS trained and many continue to work in the public sector.
Our History
Dr Amanda Northridge founded the practice in 2009, initially operating at The Manor Hospital in Headington. In 2010 the practice moved to Summertown, expanding to cover much of the top floor of Mayfield House in 2017. Today Mayfield Clinic runs practices in towns across England, from Exeter to Altrincham, with its head office in Oxford. The business is now family run, with Dr Northridge taking responsibility as Clinical Director and her son Gus Kennedy as CEO. Gus has also launched Jump, an electronic health record system for private GP practices, built on Mayfield's experience of running clinical systems in private general practice.

The Mayfield Clinic’s mission is to deliver safe, caring, personal and convenient healthcare services to enhance the wellbeing of our patients
We achieve this by employing the best medical personnel, and deliver services in a private setting, enabling us to see patients when they need and for as long as they need. We house a broad range of services including general practice and mental health, enabling us to provide holistic end-to-end management of patient health issues.
