Dr Nick Richens is a Consultant General Paediatrician with subspecialty training in Paediatric Emergency Medicine. He currently works as a Paediatric Emergency Medicine Consultant at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Acute Paediatrics at the University of Oxford Medical School.
Dr Richens graduated in Medicine from Christ Church, University of Oxford in 2011. He has since held posts at hospitals across the UK and Australia.His clinical interests include paediatric neurology, sports injury, respiratory medicine, and the promotion of child health and wellbeing. He is recognised for his expertise in paediatric vascular access and regularly uses point-of-care ultrasound to enhance clinical assessment and patient care.
Dr Richens co-founded and lectures on the British Paediatric Neurology Association’s Acute Neurology Course and is passionate about medical education. He holds an MSc in Medical Education from Wolfson College, University of Oxford (2023), and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) as well as a Member of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (MRCEM).
