Dr Nyaradzo Matebwe

I believe strongly in giving patients the time and space to be heard. For me, good general practice starts with rapport – seeing each person as an individual, not a checklist – and creating a supportive environment where we can work together on their health.

After graduating from the University of Birmingham, I completed my GP training in North West London before moving to Australia. I spent over a decade working in suburban practices across New South Wales and Sydney, and also gained valuable experience working in remote Aboriginal Medical Services. That time really shaped how I practise – it taught me to be flexible, confident in unfamiliar situations, and always mindful of the importance of culturally sensitive care.

Having worked across two different healthcare systems, I bring a broad perspective to my consultations. I value clear communication, continuity, and care that is responsive to individual needs – not just symptoms.

Since returning to the UK in 2023, I’ve been working in Hertfordshire in both general practice and urgent care. I enjoy the variety general practice brings and am committed to offering calm, open, and person-centred care.

Outside of work, I’m a mum of two sporty kids – so weekends often mean cheering at basketball or netball games. I also enjoy creative projects like crochet, soap-making and candle-making, which help bring a little calm to busy days.
