Dr Kirren Schnack

I’ve been at Mayfield Clinic for more than 12 years, providing a Clinical Psychology service to clients across Oxfordshire.

With over 20 years of clinical experience, I hold a Practitioner Doctorate (PsychD) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Oxford and am an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS). Throughout my career, I have worked across various NHS settings - including hospitals, outpatient clinics, private practice, and the law courts - helping adults and children from diverse backgrounds navigate complex difficulties. My clinical expertise spans anxiety disorders, health anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, PTSD, depression, phobias, sleep issues, self-esteem, relationship and interpersonal problems, and neuro-developmental conditions such as Autism and ADHD.

I have authored two books, Ten Times Calmer and Tools for Life (published by Bluebird, Pan Macmillan), both of which are practical guides that help readers manage and improve their mental health. I create self-help content across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube to educate a growing audience about their mental health. I bring my clinical expertise to TikTok as a Clinician Council Member working on public health campaigns, and I collaborate with the World Health Organization’s FIDES initiative to counter health misinformation and empower people to make evidence-based decisions. Additionally, I have worked with the BBC - including the documentary Anxiety and Me - and regularly contribute to BBC radio and printed press as a featured mental health expert.

Geographical Area for Dr Schnack

Dr Schnack primarily sees patients living in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. All new patients require a GP referral before an appointment can be confirmed.

Referrals for patients living outside these areas may be considered on a case-by-case basis, at the clinic’s discretion, following GP referral and clinical triage.
