If you have been asked to complete medical checks before an ADHD assessment or before ADHD medication can be considered, our experienced private GPs can help.
Some private ADHD assessment providers ask patients to complete physical health checks or investigations before an assessment, diagnosis or treatment can proceed.
At Mayfield Clinic, our experienced GPs can carry out the medical checks requested by your ADHD provider and provide you with the relevant results to share with your specialist.
Your appointment will be tailored to the requirements provided by your ADHD assessment service. Please bring or send us any forms, referral letters or instructions from your provider so that we can make sure the appropriate checks are arranged.
Please note that this service does not include an ADHD assessment or diagnosis.
The exact checks required will depend on your ADHD provider. Please provide us with their instructions so that your appointment can be tailored accordingly.
Your provider may ask for measurements and general health checks such as height, weight, BMI, blood pressure and pulse. The GP can also review your relevant medical history and carry out a cardiovascular assessment where required.
We can arrange blood tests requested by your ADHD assessment provider. The specific tests required vary between providers, so please bring their instructions with you. Laboratory fees are charged separately from the consultation.
Some ADHD providers may request an electrocardiogram (ECG) as part of their medical checks. We can arrange this alongside your GP consultation. If an ECG is required, please contact us to arrange a 45-minute appointment.
Adults can book a 30-minute Standard Consultation at any Mayfield Clinic location.
For children, please book a 30-minute Standard Consultation with one of our GPs, or a Standard Paediatric Consultation with our paediatrician in Oxford.
If an ECG is required, please contact the Mayfield Clinic team before booking, as a longer appointment will be required.
