What do we test for?

Biochemistry Panel

A range of biochemical markers in your stool to highlight digestive abnormalities and support the interpretation of inflammation and bleeding results.

Calprotectin

A protein biomarker that indicates inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract—elevated levels may point to IBD or other inflammatory conditions.

Quantitative Faecal Immunochemical Test (QFIT)

A sensitive method to detect hidden (occult) blood in stool, helping to screen for polyps, colorectal cancer risk or bleeding ulcers.

How will this help you?

What is the QFIT/Calprotectin Profile?

The QFIT/Calprotectin Profile is a combined at-home stool health test kit that checks for two key markers:

This dual analysis helps to screen for conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), gut inflammation, polyps, or gastrointestinal bleeding.

What’s included in the kit?

Who should consider this test?

How is the sample collected?

Simply collect a small stool sample with the provided faecal collection device, close securely, and return in the prepaid mailer. No special equipment or clinic visit required.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the Calprotectin & QFIT test kit at home?

The Calprotectin & QFIT Profile is highly accurate when instructions are followed. QFIT detects as little as 10 µg of blood per gram of stool, and Calprotectin reliably flags gut inflammation. Together they offer >95% sensitivity for inflammatory bowel conditions.

How do I collect a sample for the test for gut inflammation at home?

Collect a small stool sample with the provided collection tubes (one for Calprotectin, one for QFIT), seal and return them in the prepaid mailer. Detailed instructions are in the kit.

How long does it take to get QFIT and Calprotectin test results?

Results are usually available within 3–5 working days of the lab receiving your sample. You’ll get a secure email with your full report and clear guidance on next steps.

What do abnormal results on my home gut health test mean?

Yes. High Calprotectin levels suggest inflammation (e.g., IBD), while a positive QFIT indicates hidden blood in stool. Your results will guide whether you need further GP review or referral.

Can I book a GP consultation after my home stool test kit results?

Absolutely. We offer an optional GP follow-up appointment in person or via video (additional fees apply). Our GPs will discuss your report and advise on any next steps.
