The Quantitative Faecal Immunochemical Test (QFIT) is a non-invasive screening tool that detects tiny amounts of blood in your stool. It’s designed for home use with simple instructions and a prepaid return envelope. Results typically arrive within 3–5 working days.
Use the QFIT sample collection device to collect a small stool sample following the step-by-step instructions in your kit. Seal the collection tube, complete the form, and post back using the prepaid envelope. No blood draw is needed—this is a stool-based test.
Once the laboratory receives your QFIT kit, analysis usually takes 2–3 working days. You’ll receive an email notification when your report is ready to view securely online. If you’ve added a GP follow-up, we’ll contact you to discuss your results.
QFIT is highly sensitive for detecting hidden blood in stool, making it an effective early screening tool for colorectal conditions. While it cannot diagnose cancer on its own, a positive result means further investigation (such as colonoscopy) is recommended.
Yes, you can use the at-home QFIT kit if you have haemorrhoids or minor anal bleeding. Just note that certain conditions may lead to false positives. If you’re uncertain, please book a GP consultation before testing.
