Most adults can use the PEth home blood test kit. It’s particularly useful if you need to monitor or verify your alcohol consumption levels for medical, occupational or personal reasons. It’s not suitable for children under 18 or anyone unable to perform a finger-pick blood sample.
Factors such as medication, supplements or certain medical conditions do not produce PEth. Only ethanol (alcohol) metabolism creates PEth in red blood cells, so this test is highly specific to alcohol intake.
