Continuity of care is an important part of delivering general practice effectively. That's why generally speaking our patients will see the same GP regularly, building a relationship over time. That said, our GPs work as a team, and will all be able to deliver you informed and considered medical advice.
We deliver face to face general practice from a number of locations across the country, and you are welcome to consult face to face. However, our GPs can also consult over the phone or via video if more convenient for you.
Yes you should. All patients eligible for NHS care should maintain an NHS GP registration, even if you exclusively see your Mayfield Clinic GP. Your NHS GP maintains your primary patient record, and should you need to use any NHS services (such as NHS A&E), they will remain your registered practice.
You can either book online via the Book appointment button, or you can contact the Members' call line, Email or WhatsApp line during office hours, and our team will schedule an appointment on your behalf.
We prioritise appointment slots for Members, and will endeavour to offer same day appointments wherever possible.
Our private general practice in Cardiff is just 12.2 miles from Pontypridd, accessible via the A470 in under 25 minutes. We’re ideally placed for patients travelling from nearby towns like Aberdare, Tonyrefail and Llantrisant.
Pontypridd train station on the Rhondda line links directly to Cardiff Central, offering a swift 20-minute journey. Major bus routes on Hawthorn Street and Cardiff Road also provide regular services to our clinic.

Yes. While our practice is based in Cardiff, we offer in-person private GP appointments just a 12.2-mile drive from Pontypridd, with same day slots available subject to clinician availability.
You can choose face-to-face visits at our Cardiff clinic, or remote consultations by video or telephone. We currently do not offer home visits.
We accept most major health insurance plans and self-payment. If you have insurance, we’ll provide you with documentation to claim your consultation fees.
Our private GPs are able to treat most common ailments remotely by video or phone. Where necessary, they can arrange for a prescription to be sent to you electronically, or for medications to be posted to you. Conditions our private doctors assist with regularly include Coughs & Colds, Contraception, Menopause, Skin Conditions, Second Opinions, Aches & Pains, Stress and Headaches. There are a limited number of issues we can't treat.
Where necessary, our clinicians will issue you with an electronic prescription. These can be redeemed at most pharmacies, including all Boots, Tesco, Superdrug and Lloyds pharmacies.
