The Mycoplasma genitalium PCR Self-Collection Test uses polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to detect DNA from the Mycoplasma genitalium bacterium in your urine or vaginal swab. PCR is one of the most sensitive and specific methods available for diagnosing this infection.
Collect a midstream urine sample using the sterile Aptima urine collection tube, or gently swab the vaginal area with the supplied Aptima multi-site swab. Follow the step-by-step instructions in the kit, seal your samples, and send them back in the prepaid envelope.
Results are usually available within 3–5 business days of receipt at our UK-accredited laboratory. We will notify you by secure email and you can log in to your private portal to view your report.
