PSA is a protein produced by the prostate gland. Measuring total PSA levels helps screen for prostate inflammation, benign enlargement, and prostate cancer, enabling early intervention and monitoring of prostate health.
The Prostate Specific Antigen (Total) blood test measures PSA, a protein produced by the prostate gland. High PSA levels can indicate prostate inflammation, benign enlargement, or prostate cancer.
Our simple at-home blood tests give you quick insights into your prostate health—no clinic visit required.
Our at-home PSA Total blood test kit uses the same accredited laboratory methods as in-clinic testing, ensuring high accuracy. However, individual results can be influenced by factors like recent ejaculation, prostate procedures, or certain medications. Always discuss your results with a GP for interpretation.
Results are typically available within 3–5 working days after the lab receives your sample. You’ll be notified by email, and you can log in to your secure patient portal to view your PSA levels and supporting GP commentary.
No fasting is required for the PSA Total test. To optimise accuracy, avoid ejaculation for 24–48 hours before collecting your sample, and ensure you’re well-hydrated. Follow the included instructions carefully for a smooth home blood testing experience.
Elevated PSA levels can indicate prostate inflammation, benign enlargement, or cancer. If your result is high, our GP team will recommend next steps—such as repeat testing, imaging, or referral to a urologist—via an in-person or video appointment (additional fees apply).
The PSA blood test is most commonly recommended for men over 50, especially those with a family history of prostate cancer or urinary symptoms. However, younger men with specific risk factors can also benefit. Discuss your needs with a GP if you’re unsure.
