Apolipoprotein A1 is the major protein component of HDL (“good”) cholesterol. Higher levels are associated with lower cardiovascular risk, making it an important marker for assessing heart health.
This home blood testing kit measures Apolipoprotein A1, the primary protein component of HDL cholesterol (“good cholesterol”). Monitoring Apolipoprotein A1 levels can help you and your GP assess your cardiovascular health and potential risk of heart disease.
Using your blood test kit, perform a simple finger-prick with the provided lancet. Collect a few drops of blood into the TDL Tiny micro-tube, seal it, and post it back in the pre-paid envelope. No clinic visit required.
Yes. Our Apolipoprotein A1 Home Blood Test Kit is designed for self-sampling. You simply use the included lancet to collect a small finger-prick sample into the TDL Tiny micro-tube and return it to the lab in the pre-paid envelope.
Accuracy depends on following instructions carefully. Our home blood testing kit uses a validated small-volume collection method (TDL Tiny) and accredited laboratory analysis to ensure results comparable to standard venous sampling.
After you register your kit online, collect your sample, and post it back, most results are available within 2–5 working days. You can then book a GP follow-up consultation with Mayfield Clinic to discuss your results in person or by video.
Your results will indicate whether your Apolipoprotein A1 level is within the healthy reference range. Low levels may suggest a higher cardiovascular risk, while higher levels are usually protective. Always discuss your results with a healthcare professional.
