If you are preparing for your first visit to Mayfield Clinic Chichester, I want you to feel clear about what to expect before you arrive. Visiting a new healthcare clinic can sometimes feel unfamiliar. You may wonder where to park, whether you need to check in with a receptionist, or what will happen when you arrive. This guide answers the practical questions patients often have before their first visit, so you can arrive feeling settled and ready to focus on your health.
Our Chichester clinic is easy to find and is conveniently located close to well known landmarks including Chichester Railway Station, Chichester Bus Station, Sussex Police Headquarters and Chichester Ship Canal. The clinic is within a short walk of both Chichester Railway Station and Chichester Bus Station, which makes it easily accessible by public transport. One of the principles behind Mayfield Clinic is that healthcare should not feel rushed. Appointments are designed to provide time for listening, understanding, asking questions and working together to develop a plan that fits your circumstances and goals.
Before you leave, you may wish to know that the clinic is just a short distance from Chichester Ship Canal. If time allows, you may want to take a few minutes for a gentle walk before heading home. Many patients find that a short walk provides an opportunity to reflect on the conversation, gather their thoughts and begin putting their plans into action.

Parking is available within the City Business Centre. If you are attending Mayfield Clinic Chichester, you may use the designated Chichester Physiotherapy parking spaces, as these are shared between Mayfield Clinic and Chichester Physiotherapy. Although the signs display Chichester Physiotherapy, these spaces may also be used by patients attending Mayfield Clinic.
Two of these designated spaces are on the right hand side as you enter the car park, and a third designated space is directly in front of Unit 5. There are also five visitor parking spaces available within the business centre. These are on the right hand side of the car park. Although the signs mention displaying a visitor permit, patients attending Mayfield Clinic do not currently need to display one and are welcome to park in these visitor spaces.
Additional free parking for up to two hours is often available on nearby sections of Basin Road and Kingsham Road. I kindly ask patients not to use parking spaces allocated to other businesses within the centre.
Mayfield Clinic is located on the ground floor of the City Business Centre and is accessible without the need to use stairs. The clinic entrance is suitable for wheelchair users and patients with reduced mobility, with parking available close to the entrance.
Mayfield Clinic works a little differently from many healthcare settings. There is no reception desk and no receptionist. When you arrive, simply come in, take a seat in the reception area, make yourself comfortable and enjoy the music for a few moments. There is no need to announce your arrival. I will come and greet you personally at the time of your appointment.
We have created an environment designed to feel calm, comfortable and welcoming.
From the music in the waiting area to the artwork, plants and natural elements throughout the clinic, I hope the space helps you feel relaxed from the moment you arrive.
Toilet facilities are available for patients. The patient toilet is located in the passageway immediately beyond Unit 4, a short walk from the clinic entrance. If you are unsure where it is, please feel free to ask when I greet you.
Many patients find it helpful to bring a list of questions or topics they would like to discuss during their appointment. If possible, please also bring a list of your current medications, including any supplements or over the counter remedies you regularly take. If you have any recent clinic letters, hospital correspondence or test results that may be relevant, please feel free to bring them with you. If you think you may be running late, please let us know if possible.
If you would like a chaperone to be present during your consultation or examination, please email info@mayfieldclinic.co.uk when booking your appointment so that we can discuss your requirements in advance. As we are a small clinic, we are unable to routinely provide chaperones at short notice. Contacting us before your appointment will help us make appropriate arrangements wherever possible.
Some appointments in Chichester may involve blood tests or other samples that need to be sent to a specialist laboratory. When this is required, I will take the sample during your appointment, prepare the packaging and attach a Royal Mail Tracked label. I will then give the package to you so that it can be posted at the nearby Royal Mail Chichester Delivery Office on Basin Road, just a short distance from the clinic. This simple process helps ensure that samples reach the laboratory safely and promptly.
