Children's GP Appointments in Exeter: Seen This Week, Not Next Month

Private GP

Children get ill quickly and recover quickly; the frustration is the waiting in between. When 'keep an eye on it' is stretching into week two, or this morning's fever needs a doctor's judgement today, prompt access is what parents actually need.

Children's care at our Exeter clinic

Unhurried matters more with children

Small children can't describe symptoms and won't perform them on demand. Longer appointments give your GP time to observe, win a toddler's cooperation, examine gently and answer every parental question, including the 3am ones you wrote down.

Judgement you can trust

Our GPs are honest about boundaries: most childhood illness is safely managed in clinic, and the rare situations needing hospital care are recognised and escalated without hesitation. A genuinely unwell child, with breathing difficulty, unusual drowsiness or a non-fading rash, is always an emergency-services matter first.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can my child be seen at Mayfield Clinic Exeter?

Usually same-day or next-day. Book online to see live availability. Video consultations are also available when advice is needed quickly.

Do you see babies as well as older children?

Yes, from newborn onwards. Feeding, settling, rashes, development: no concern is too small when it's your baby.

Can the same GP see my child each time?

Yes, and it's worth doing. A GP who knows your child recognises what's normal for them, which makes both diagnosis and reassurance more reliable.
