Working in conjunction with our GPs and Radiologists, our physios focus on providing simple but effective care for MSK injuries. Our philosophy is to provide high quality and effective physiotherapy to help patients recover from pain or injury.
Our initial appointments are 60 minutes, followed by 45 minute follow-ups, providing sufficient time and space to plan your personalised care.

Develop a treatment plan with your physio
Our physios can work with you to develop a treatment plan to overcome back pain. Treatment plans can also identify impairments that may have contributed to the initial onset of the issue, or the persistence of pain.
If you have knee pain, our physios can work with you to develop a treatment plan to overcome the issue. This can include tailored rehabilitation with strengthening or stretching exercises, taping or massage.
Mayfield physios have a wealth of experience of dealing with shoulder injuries, and can work with you to develop a treatment plan to overcome your pain. This can include exercises, or specific interventions such as taping to reduce pain.
Tennis elbow is a common condition that causes pain in your forearm and around the outside of your elbow. Our physios can help prescribe exercises to to restore function and reduce pain
Osteoarthritis is a common condition caused by the gradual wear and tear on the smooth cartilage lining of your joint. There is no cure for arthritis, although our physios can help develop exercise plans that have been shown to decrease pain and stiffness levels, while maintaining function and increasing quality of life.
Repetitive strain injuries can be caused by repetitive movements or poor posture while doing certain activities such as exercise or work. Our physios will work with you to develop an exercise plan to restore natural movement to injured tissues.
Depending on the issue, treatment can include (but is not limited to) sports massage, orthotics, taping, exercise programs, massage or acupuncture.
Our clinicians do not routinely provide written reports of their findings. If a report is required, this will be billed at the clinician's standard hourly rate.
Oxford's Mayfield Clinic is conveniently located on Banbury Road in the Summertown neighbourhood of North Oxford. The Oxford Parkway Park and Ride station, located on the Banbury Road about a mile north of Summertown, provides frequent bus service into the city. Alternatively, parking is available for £2 per hour in the Summertown Car Park which is only a 2-minute walk from Mayfield Clinic.
Your physiotherapy treatment may involve a mixture of exercises, advice and manual therapy or ‘hands on’ treatment to alleviate pain or stiffness. The physiotherapist you see at Mayfield will always work closely in conjunction with the GP or Radiologist should this be indicated in your care. We work through a three-step process to get you back to full health:
Diagnosis – Identify the route cause of the issue
Plan – outline a treatment plan to resolve the problem
Recovery – follow the agreed plan of what can be done for the patient and what the patient can do themselves.
We are proud to say that our clinicians are highly experienced and specially trained to assess and diagnose a wide variety of complaints. They are also able to refer on to other specialists or for further investigations, should that be required.
